Why We Decided to Get Our COVID-19 Vaccines

If you have been following our Instagram account for the past few weeks, you have probably seen our updates regarding our recent COVID-19 vaccinations. As travel and lifestyle content creators, we understand the value of transparency when it comes to making decisions that affect our ability to travel and share our experiences.

A few people have reached out to us asking for more information on our vaccinations. We decided to write out a few details that we want our audience to know in order to clear up any confusion. Continue reading to learn why we made the decision and why we trust the Covid vaccine.

ABILITY TO CONTINUE PRODUCING CONTENT RESPONSIBLY

The vast majority of our work involves travelling to different parts of the world, promoting tourism in little-known areas and helping resorts and brands grow their social media presence. COVID-19 has made it extremely difficult to continue our work in a responsible way due to public health advisories. Getting vaccinated allows us to continue bringing you beautiful content and develop our business without endangering those around us.

We would never want to be the reason for infecting someone and causing heartache for a family. Knowing first-hand the devastating loss of Covid, we feel it is our duty to do our part in combating this virus.

PROTECT OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Not only do we hope to protect fellow travellers and locals as we explore different areas, but we are also concerned about the well-being of our friends and family at home. By taking advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated, we are able to rest easy when we return home to our loved ones.

WHY WE TRUST THE VACCINE

The vast majority of vaccine development is marketing- and money is always the limiting factor. Since the COVID pandemic put the global economy at a standstill, vaccine development had become a top priority. Therefore, the COVID vaccine got trillions of dollars upfront, and the safety testing phase was prolonged to ensure no major concerns were seen. It uses decades of research into the vaccine as well as even more for the virus itself.

If you are interested in learning more about the development process for regular vaccines vs the Covid vaccine, this is a great article.

We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to receive the vaccine and protect those around us as we continue to work. However, we hold the belief that getting vaccinated is an individual choice and we have absolutely no intention of persuading others to get the vaccine if they do not feel it is right for them.
