Experiencing the Incredible Fairmont Maldives (Hotel Review)

If you know us, you know that we are massive fans of the Fairmont brand. Each Fairmont hotel is tailored to its location offering an upscale, yet authentic experience no matter where you travel. Our trip to the Maldives definitely would not have been complete without checking out the accommodations at the Fairmont Maldives resort.

THE CUTEST BEACH, GLAMPING, AND OVERWATER VILLAS

Our first stop at the Fairmont Maldives was a 2-night stay in one of their pristine beach villas. The decor in our villa was super aesthetic and gave off a similar vibe to the villas you would find in Tulum or Bali. We had a gorgeous knitted canopy draped over our bed and cute, jungle-inspired pillows to complete the look. The exterior of our villa was even more impressive with a massive outdoor bathtub, hammock, private pool, expansive deck for lounging and direct access to the beach right outside our doorstep. The villa felt as though it was dropped right in the middle of the jungle with plenty of trees offering extra privacy.

Although we were sad to leave our beach villa, we were very intrigued by the other types of accommodations offered at the Fairmont Maldives. Our next stop was a tented jungle villa, which offers all the luxuries of the Fairmont beach villas with even more of a glamping feel. The decor in our jungle villa was incredibly bright, modern and glamorous with lights glowing underneath our king sized bed, beautiful hardwood floors and high tented ceilings draped above us. The most unique part of our stay here was an outdoor movie theatre which sat on the sand right next to our villa!

The last villa we wanted to check out before leaving the Fairmont Maldives was one of their overwater bungalows. This type of accommodation is of course, very typical in the Maldives, however the Fairmont really does take it to the next level. The design of our overwater bungalow was very similar to our beach villa. It was incredibly spacious, upscale and offered direct access to the Indian ocean. There really is nothing like lounging in a private pool right on top of the crystal clear sea.

SNORKLE THE PRISTINE CORAL GARDENS AND GET A RELAXING MASSAGE

Some highlights around the Fairmont Maldives resort were a coral garden which was created as an initiative to sustain the endangered coral in this region, as well as the longest infinity pool we have ever seen. The infinity pool at the Fairmont Maldives is world-famous, offering an iconic Instagram photo-op. The pool stretches across the entire island, and manages to sustain massive palm trees which grow out of the water. We also enjoyed a relaxing massage at the Fairmont Willow Stream Spa, which you can find in many Fairmont hotels around the world. These spas are world-class and offer a peaceful experience after a long flight or excursion.

We highly recommend checking out one of these unique accommodation options at the Fairmont Maldives if you’re looking for an upscale, jungle experience. We will definitely have to come back!
