What I Wore in Dubai (Dubai Outfit Inspo)

Dubai has to be one of our favourite cities in the world! It’s widely known for its glitz and glamour, it’s a playground with rich hospitality, exotic culinary delights, over-the-top-architecture, and of course, it's world renowned nightlife.

It’s one of those places that is very posh, very chic, and yet very laid back at the same time. You can wear a gown for brunch and sweatpants at dinner- and no one would judge you!

Kaan was born and raised here, and got to witness this desert town turn into a bustling metropolis paradise that is jam-packed with insta-worthy photo ops.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS WHEN GOING TO DUBAI?

We’ve noticed MAJOR changes there in terms of acceptable outfits since we last visited in 2017. Back then, you had to cover your knees and shoulders when going to public buildings- like malls, cinemas, etc-, but in 2022, anything went in terms of outfits. We saw women walking around in bikini tops at the malls and Daisy Dukes, so clearly a lot has changed in terms of acceptable fashion. As long as you feel comfortable in it- go for it!

CONSIDER THE DIFFERENT SEASONS

The winter months of November- February are a little bit more chillier- somedays the temperatures drop to 13 degrees at night so bring sure to bring a light jacket or sweater when going out.

The summer months get super hot- we are talking over 40 degrees and 100% humidity, but all places will have AC blasting, so keep a shawl around.

During the month of Ramadan, you may have to dress a bit more modest- think shoulders covered. If you plan on visiting any mosques or religious sites, it’s mandatory to wear a headscarf and an abaya. All the ‘tourist’ mosques have abayas and headscarves which you could borrow.
