Where to Stay on Your Next Palm Springs Vacation: La Serena Villas
Palm Springs: home of ultra chic architecture, lazy days by the pool, and breathtaking sunsets surrounded by tall palm trees and rock mountains. Whether you’re looking for a desert getaway, girls trip or a boutique hotel to stay in during Coachella, you will absolutely love La Serena Villas.
The Best Place to Stay in Palm Springs
On our trip to Southern California we decided to take a few days to relax and unwind in Palm Springs. We weren’t sure exactly where was the best place to stay, and opted to choose one of the luxury boutique hotels that Palm Springs is known for. We couldn’t have been happier to experience the wonderful hospitality at La Serena Villas, which as perfect for our Palm Springs getaway.
In the middle of downtown Palm Springs, you will find a peace and quiet at the luxury oasis in La Serena Villas. This super Instagrammable resort will remind you of a cross between Morocco and Los Cabos, with every corner being has 18 stylish bungalows, and will remind you of a cross between Morocco and Los Cabos. Each bungalow comes with a bottle of ice cold local tequila, with beautiful bathrooms outfitted with L’Occitane care products, and outdoor patios complete with a fire pit and a claw foot bathtub.
La Serena Villas has the most perfect pool to cool off from the desert heat, and we totally understand how easy it is to spend a whole day here. We spent most of our time by the pool, catching up on our tans and lounging on their infamous flamingo floaties. The pool is surrounded with views of the San Jacinto Mountain and the great music playing will put you in vacation mode.
Luckily for us, one of the best restaurants in Palm Springs- Azucar- was right on the hotel’s property. This is the most amazing rooftop bar in Palm Springs to enjoy watching sunset while sipping on delicious handcrafted cocktails. We loved the food at Azucar- a fusion between Americana and Mexican- and their great happy hour deals (we can never turn down any taco specials!). We also couldn’t get enough of how aesthetically pleasing the rooftop bar was- the Instagrammable photo opportunities are endless here!
Biking Around Palm Springs:
One of the best things to do in Palm Springs is to go on a bike ride and tour the colourful doors in the neighbourhood! Luckily, La Serena Villas provides free bike rentals, and we set off in the late afternoon in search of the most IG worthy door in Palm Springs.
We found that the most colourful doors were around East Sierra Way, and found almost every colour of the rainbow in that neighbourhood. If you’re looking to get the perfect door photo without overheating in the hot desert sun, head out around 2 hours before sunset. When we went during the day, temperatures peaked at around 37 degrees celsius (that's 98 fahrenheit for our American friends)! Keep in mind that these doors are private property, and its important to be respectful towards the owners.
This rainbow neighbourhood was only a 15 minute bike ride from La Serena Villas, and really added to our Palm Springs vacation. It was great how close this resort was to everything downtown.
We absolutely LOVED our stay here and we are sure you will too! Next time we are in town, we are definitely coming back to stay here and take more Insta-worthy photos.
