MODERN ARCHITECTURE
As soon as we arrived, we were struck by Viceroy’s innovative design featuring a black & white contrast and minimalist decor. The architect who designed Viceroy Los Cabos wanted the buildings on the property to resemble floating blocks on the ocean, accessible only by a series of walking paths that would stretch across the water. He achieved this by surrounding the buildings with shallow pools that compliment the resort’s oceanfront view.
OUR SUTIE
Our suite featured a gorgeous kitchen and seating area with an LED screen that stretched across the length of the room. This system allowed for voice activated control over the room’s entertainment system, blackout curtains, coloured mood lighting and other cool features. With all-white decor, we loved the suite’s bright, modern atmosphere. Our balcony offered gorgeous views of the beach, mountains and several infinity pools on the property, which we indulged in from the comfort of our outdoor jacuzzi and our cozy sunbed.
THE VILLAS
On the ground level, a series of luxurious 3, 4 and 5 bedroom villas sit atop the water, ranging from about 3,500-8,500 square feet. We didn’t stay in one of these villas, but the hotel staff was kind enough to let us take a look inside one of them. This place was unbelievable, but Kaan and I certainly would not have been able to justify all of the space! The villas feature floor to ceiling windows, giving guests breathtaking views of the water. With two levels and a rooftop deck for sunbathing or taking a dip in your private pool, this would be an amazing place to bring a group of friends or family.
DINING
In the centre of the property, a pathway leads to a gorgeous, asian fusion restaurant which looks like a giant nest sitting on the water. This is just one of five top-rated restaurants on the resort, offering various cuisines. One of the most unique features of this resort is its close proximity to town, despite an isolated, paradisiac feel. You could even order off of food delivery apps like Uber eats if you wanted. We decided to try a local restaurant called La Lupita, and we had the best tacos ever- dare I say it! Another culinary highlight of the trip was the resort’s amazing breakfast.
VICEROY BY NIGHT
The evening is a great time to head to the beach at Viceroy. We were awestruck by one of the most beautiful sunsets that made the sky look like it was on fire. We also noticed a few people riding horses on the beach at sunset, which would have been a really fun activity if we had more time. When the sun goes down, the resort comes to life with bright pink lights highlighting the buildings, warm lighting from inside the nest-style building in the centre of the property, and guidelights speckled across the walkways surrounded by glistening water.
If you are looking for a modern, luxury stay in Los Cabos, I can’t recommend Viceroy enough. Hopefully we’ll be able to come back for a stay in one of their spectacular villas!
